With control of the Commonwealth’s 5th Congressional District up for grabs, Democratic candidate Tom Perriello says in a statement “ The race …is too close to call and every vote must be counted. We’re blown away by the enthusiasm we saw at the polls today, by surging support in rural areas and among African-American voters, and by the high number of same-day voter registrations.” Perriello is currently trailing the district’s current Representative John McGuire by more than 9 thousand votes.
