The 2026 American Music Awards brought several major music moments together, from K-pop wins to surprise reunions and career honors. One of the night’s biggest winners was “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters, which took song of the year, best pop song, and best vocal performance.
BTS was named artist of the year, adding another major honor to the group’s global run. In the rock and alternative categories, sombr earned attention with a win for best rock/alternative song for “back to friends.”
The show also included a wide range of live performances. Teddy Swims opened with “God Went Crazy,” while New Kids on the Block joined Hootie & The Blowfish for a performance of “Let Her Cry.” Sombr also performed “Homewrecker” during the broadcast.
