Tristan Thompson is hoping to help ease the tension between Drake and LeBron James after their once-public friendship appeared to cool during Drake’s 2024 conflict with Kendrick Lamar.
During a recent appearance on Club Shay Shay, Thompson was asked about his bond with Drake and whether he could play a role in bringing the rapper and James back together. Thompson said Drake is like family to him and noted that they have known each other since he was 17.
The former NBA champion also said Drake was there for him when his mother died, adding that their relationship remains close. Thompson, who has strong ties to both Drake and James, said he would love to help repair the relationship and repeated that he is trying.
The public distance between Drake and James drew attention after James attended Kendrick Lamar’s Pop Out concert in Los Angeles, where Not Like Us became a major moment. Thompson did not give details about any private conversations, but his comments made clear that he wants to see the two reconnect.
