Its the second and last weekend at the Bear Theatre in downtown Roanoke at Community High School this Friday through Sunday for a locally written whodunit by playwright Stacey Upton, Death by Design. In the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, there’s a murder or three at a remote bed and breakfast, and the suspects are the quirky guests who are trapped there by a storm. This Friday at the Salem Civic Center its the first Roanoke Symphony Orchestra Pops concert of the 26-27 season – Sinatra and the American Songbook – with guest vocalist Steve Lippia. Roanoke Ballet Theatre’s Dracula has become a pre-Halloween favorite in recent years and its back at Jefferson Center for two performances this Saturday, at 2 and 7pm.
