Gorillaz are heading to Studio 8H for the first time. The long running NBC sketch show Saturday Night Live confirmed that Damon Albarn will appear as the animated band’s musical guest in an upcoming episode, marking his debut on the program.
The announcement places Gorillaz alongside the episode’s host, adding the virtual group to a lineup that has featured some of the biggest names in music. While Albarn has built a decades long career across multiple projects, this will be his first time performing on SNL in any capacity.
Gorillaz have continued to release new music and collaborate widely in recent years, keeping the project active with fresh material and live appearances. The SNL booking adds a major U.S. television moment to that run.
The show, which has aired since 1975, remains one of the most visible stages for artists promoting new releases. For Gorillaz, the appearance signals another milestone in a career that has moved between genres, formats, and global audiences.
